Matter As Machine

Everything is execution

There is a popular assumption in physics that led its authors nowhere, as far as I know. This assumption is: what if everything is computation?

I cannot agree.

Why?

Computation is not even fundamental. It is only one specific type of execution: execution with a goal.

A computer program computes because someone defines input, output, and purpose. Matter does not need that. Matter only needs to execute its rules.

If our universe has no goal, then how can everything be computation?

It cannot.

The main idea of this project can be described as: what if everything is execution? What if matter executes some algorithm? How would that affect our understanding of the world?

The project naturally splits into two huge parts:

The first part is infinitely large, so I will describe only the parts that I find interesting and surprisingly novel. Novel enough to explain humanity and the meaning of human life.

The second part is simple, but it is not fully finished yet. It partially explains physics. Partially, but on the level you have never seen before.

I will be filling these sections slowly, because I do not have much free time to do it faster. If you want to accelerate the process, consider supporting the project.

My task is to show that the “everything is execution” model can explain the universe — not only physics, but also you and me.
